The next one hit wonder from the 1950's that I will by exploring is "Susie Darlin'" by Robin Luke. The song came out in 1958 and took about a month to fully record because Robin had to change the track every time he made a mistake. The girl in the song is named Susie, which is also his sisters name, but the song is not about his sister. He just used his sisters name so none of the girls at his high school would think it was about them. Robin was only sixteen years old when he recorded "Susie Darlin'". The song is about a girl he loves who left him. It may have been an ex-girlfriend. It seems that he wants to get back together with his girlfriend who he wishes never left in the first place. The song uses instruments like the drums, ukulele, and tapping pens and sticks. Even though this is a rock song, it sounds a bit folky. After the release of this successful song which made it to the top 10 on the billboards, he kept writing and two of his other songs were somewhat popular, but neither were as popular as his hit "Susie Darlin'".
